Team Up to Clean Up: D Street
Join us for a Team Up to Clean Up event at the D-Street Nesting Area and help us care for our coastal environment! The D-Street Nesting Area is part of a protected wildlife refuge and is an important nesting habitat for endangered shorebirds like the California Least Tern. Participants will pick up trash around the protected space, look for signs of native wildlife, and learn how we can all make a difference by keeping our green spaces and waterways clean!
Date: January 21, 2024
Check-in time: 9:00 AM
Duration: 2 hours
Meeting Location: We will meet at the corner of Marina Way and W 32nd St. Look for the Living Coast canopy to catch the shuttle that will take you to the clean-up site as it is located on a refuge.
Driving directions: Take the Bay Marina Dr. (Mile of Cars Way) exit in National City and head west. At the stoplight, turn left onto Marina Way.
Suggested parking: Street parking is available along Marina Way and W 32nd St.
Restrooms and Water: There will be a portable restroom available at this location.
Program Supplies: Buckets, trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and grabbers will be provided. Please make sure to bring water and wear comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes, and sun/bug protection!
