World Jellyfish Day
Celebrate World Jellyfish Day at the Living Coast!
Jellyfish, contrary to their name, are invertebrates that use a form of jet propulsion to move through the water. They have been around for millions of years, moving through the ocean’s current. Although they are feared by most because of their sting, jellyfish play an important role in our marine ecosystem. They are a key source of food for sea turtles and other animals, and even double as protection for other species, like oysters, from predators!
Visit the Living Coast on November 4 & 5 to celebrate this fascinating species with animal encounters, arts & crafts, and educational resources on jellyfish & plankton!
*All Jellyfish Day activities are included with admission.
